SPECIAL NEEDS REGISTRY This registration website allows residents with special needs an opportunity to provide information to emergency response agencies so those agencies can better plan to serve them in a disaster or other emergencies. The information collected here will not be available to the public. It will only be shared with emergency response agencies to improve their ability to serve. Please be as complete as possible in your responses. You will be contacted occasionally to ensure the information is correct and to make any necessary changes. If you have any questions, please contact them at the information given below. By submitting your information, you agree that you voluntarily authorize its release. There is no substitute for personal preparation. In a disaster, government and other agencies may not be able to meet your needs. It is important for all residents to make individual plans and preparations for their care and safety in an emergency.

NEW ONLINE RESOURCE FOR THE UTAH DISABILITY COMMUNITY! The Family to Family Network, in partnership with the Utah Parent Center and DSPD, is pleased to announce the launching of a new support resource for parents and others who care for individuals with disabilities. It is a networking site with a high level of security where you will find opportunities to meet lots of great parents and support professionals, find out about disability-related events happening all over the state, get tips on caregiving strategies, read and post blogs and discussions, and read newsletters from many disability agencies—all in one place! There are also groups for many specific issues and disabilities. We all need support at one time or another, and we also benefit from giving support to others. Insurance Coverage for Autism

The Autism Insurance Reform movement in Utah is ramping UP to achieve coverage forchildren in our state this year, we need everyone’s help!

Volunteers in four other states – Arizona, Florida, Louisiana and Pennsylvania have been able to achieve insurance coverage for their children this year! A total of SEVEN states now meet standards of appropriate coverage, ending autism insurance discrimination and covering treatments and therapies that are medically necessary for our children such as speech, occupational therapy, and applied behavior analysis therapy.

HOW CAN YOU HELP IN UTAH?

1. VISIT the AutismVotes.org website and register to receive advocacy alerts. This willensure that you receive the most updated information as quickly as possible. Also visit UTautismcoalition.blogspot.com to see our draft legislation.

2. EMAIL US at UTautismcoalition@gmail.com if you are interested in supporting by making phone calls, attend rallies, speak with State Senators and Assemblymen, attend hearings at the Capitol, serving as an Assembly District Captain to lead efforts in your own home district and help us spread the word.

3. TELL EVERYONE, your family, friends, neighbors, teachers, therapists and co-workers… anyone who lives in the state of Utah that would be interested in helping you work to end insurance discrimination for children with autism statewide!

Utah’s Family to Family Network is a grassroots volunteer organization composed of fmaily members from a cross the state that have a relative with a disability.

Our mission of the Networks is to educate, strengthen, and support families of persons with disabilities.

The Family to Family Network is a program of DHS/DSPD funded in partnership with the Utah Parent Center.

Welcome to The Box Elder County Network Blog! I hope you will find this site useful. I will post dates to trainings, support groups and activities on this blog. I also, want you to use this site to get to know you agencies and resources in the Box Elder area. I will have links to these and highlight each one every few weeks.

Remember to scroll the bottom of the page as I add agencies to this page. I am going to try to keep it to local agencies. The Utah Parent Center has a Resource Book that is State Wide on their website. You can make any comments here with questions or anything you would like to share.
